The ICA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics is one of the largest specialty councils in the United States and recognized world-wide as a leader in chiropractic pediatric education. The Council was established by the International Chiropractors Association in 1992 to advance the education of the doctor of chiropractic in pediatrics at the postgraduate level so practitioners who wish to focus their practice on infants, children and pregnant women are able to receive the advanced training, knowledge and clinical skills to provide care that is effective, safe, clinically appropriate and of the highest professional and ethical standard.
In addition to a 3-year Board Certified program (Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics) that has received world-wide recognition for its consistently high standards of education and testing, the Council also provides continuing clinical education to help family practitioners maximize their professional needs and improve patient outcomes by enhancing their diagnostic and technique skills through conferences, symposia and weekend seminars.
Committed to excellence in education and practice, the Council also promotes, fosters and advances research efforts in pediatrics by publishing the only peer-reviewed public access journal in the world, the Journal of Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics. It also provides an opportunity for researchers, faculty and field practitioner to share their research and professional papers with a wide audience at its conferences and symposia.
The Council publishes pediatric textbooks for the doctor of chiropractic, and through the development and dissemination of educational materials and the JCCP it endeavors to educate the public about the safety, efficacy and appropriateness of chiropractic care from pregnancy to adolescence.
